Six months in, still my first cup every morning. The low-acid roasting process is real — it's not just marketing language. Daryl had ongoing acid reflux issues with regular coffee. Switched to Lifeboost and the issue resolved within two weeks. I was skeptical. Now I buy four bags at a time.

Taste-wise: full body, slight chocolate and walnut notes on the finish, zero bitterness. If your idea of dark roast is "harsh and strong," Lifeboost will surprise you. It's dark in color and depth, but the smoothness is unlike anything I've found at this price point.

Trade is how I found three small Appalachian roasters I'd never have discovered on my own. The quiz-based matching actually works — I told them I want full-body, low-acidity, no fruit notes, and they've nailed it for the past year. Bubbette refers to it as "the rotating coffee museum." She's not wrong.

The subscription flexibility is excellent. Pause it, adjust frequency, swap roasts. No penalty. If you drink a lot of coffee and you want variety, this is the smartest way to buy it.

I'll say it plainly: if you're buying good beans and using a blade grinder, you're wasting money. The Encore changed my pour-over results more than any bean upgrade did. Forty grind settings, consistent burr size, quiet operation, and it's been running daily for three years with zero issues.

The build is plastic-heavy, which bothers some people. It hasn't bothered this grinder. I've dropped it twice on the kitchen floor. Still runs. On a homestead, durability matters more than aesthetics.

The Hario V60 is what I brew my Lifeboost in every morning. Pour-over takes 4 minutes and produces a cup that a $5 automatic drip machine cannot replicate. The ceramic model holds heat better than the plastic version — worth the extra few dollars, especially in a cold kitchen at 5am in January.

Vitacup pays the highest commission on this page at 20%. That is not why it's here. It's here because the Dark Roast pod actually tastes like dark roast, the vitamin blend (B1, B5, B6, B9, B12, D3) doesn't affect flavor, and Darlene has been drinking one every morning for six months. On hectic days when the kettle feels like too much effort, these solve the problem without tasting like compromise.
